What this life is about?

James 1:27
Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

Back in Time... My First Email After Doing a 5k

Hi Everyone,

it has been a long time since i have written anything and I am sorry. have been distracted from what really matters...

This week was a very eventful time... Basically every week is eventful when thinking about it... Was coming out of the gym on Monday night and my phone rang. my friend, Brent, from work was calling me to tell me that a man I used to know was dead, named Chris Benoit. The nightmare started. Was grieving the whole week even as the horrible details of the story came to light. I am horrified at the depravity of our human hearts that one human being could do this. This serves as a wake up warning screaming at my deaf ears. I am sometimes so slow to listen and repent. I am reminded of when the Lord of Eternity, Jesus was asked about a horrible tragedy that had happen, He said, unless we all repent, we shall likewise perish. This whole thing has effected me in such a way I don't even realize yet. But, this I know... Every decision we make is sooo important. With far reaching implications. Let us be viligant in our lives...

That really doesn't doesn't go along with the name of this email now does it. Sorry but here is the AMAZING part that the Lord has done. Yesterday, I was blessed enough to take part in a 5k Run/Walk race on the Waterfront. Wow, what a challenge, even on wheels. But the amazing part was the comradity among the runners. When we passed one another we said "good job" "keep it up." it was incredible. Of course, you would imagine the best part of the race was the end. Mom had bought me an mp3 player and all the runners had them to get through the race. It certainly got me through but the real blessing came at the end. 3 mile mark came and this song came on that was a real reminder. It was "You Are My Joy" by the David Crowder Band and it was an incredible ending to an incredible race. Jesus is the source of all real joy and happiness. Run to Him and be happy in Him alone. I am sorry Sonya, for not saying hey to you when I finished but I just wanted a couple seconds in saying thank you to the Source of Real Joy!!!

love you all,

jonathan
