What this life is about?

James 1:27
Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

Wow...

All I can muster to say is wow! What a day yesterday was. First, I want to thank Jesus for all the amazing opportunities I have had in my life. Sam and Katie Kinch were instrumental in me being able to compete and finish my first marathon. Yesterday, I was like no way I will ever do another one of these. Now, seeing the Philadelphia one take off this morning, I am not so sure. You never know what is in store. Sam, Katie, Mom, Kathy, Justin, and Brandon were soooooo encouraging. Thank you for acting like "idiots", as Kathy put it. Another thank you is to God for bringing all the right people into my life. You never know how much we need each othjer until you are down and can't get up for yourself. My training partner, Stan Gibson.... I guess I am the "NUT" now.... ha ha. Thank you for all the great runs over that last couple months. Especially the one we didn't get home until 2am... I guess that was the certification of being a nuts. Seriously, I praise God for you and the spirit of prayer that has been such a part of our times. May we model the prayer movement for others.

Jesus, thank you for my family. Brandon and Justin - You will never know how much you meant to me along side of the road cheering me on. It kept me going...

Will be back with Pics of the 26.2 miles and much, much more to share... Times it took was 5:24:25
